I was blown away by the beauty of this bright red flower when I was walking on a wildflower trail in the Grand Tetons during a summer day. A striking scarlet with white flecks in the center, this flower has a vibrancy that is eye-catching.
If you are attracted to Skyrocket, there may be certain people or situations in your life that require a fierce clarity. You may leak energy, feel a sense of responsibility, have a hard time saying "no" or lack clear boundaries with them.
You may even have people in your life who are energetic parasites or who don’t fully value what you have to offer them. They suck your energy and time, pester you or overstay their welcome.
Skyrocket Flower helps us stand taller and be more fearless about our self-expression or lack of expression (silence). We are no longer hooked by another’s needy energy and we can establish clear boundaries. We don’t overthink about how our words or actions will be perceived; we simply speak + execute and the pieces fall where they may.
Skyrocket puts a stop to energy leakage. People who subtly feed off of your energy or take advantage of you—even in the subtlest of ways energetically—no longer can. It sharpens your tongue, expands your aura and allows you to make a shift in the way that you interact with certain people or situations in your life. It dissolves dullness or lack of awareness and stimulates a fierceness that teaches a lesson. At first, the sensation of the elixir may make you appear to feel a lack of sensitivity, yet it is simply expanding your clarity about the situation.
The Latin name for Skyrocket flower (Ipomopsis aggregata) actually comes from the Greek language and means "striking appearance." The flower is pollinated by hummingbirds and grows up to six feet tall at high elevation in a variety of environments, including mountain meadows, desert canyons and subalpine rock fields. Wild elk and deer graze on this flower and other names for this flower include Scarlet Gilia and Skunk Flower (it’s said to have an unpleasant odor).
Skyrocket was used as an herbal remedy by several tribes in the U.S.: the Great Basin people used an infusion for blood diseases, and the Hopi used it for mothers who’d recently given birth but were still in bed after three weeks. The Navajo used it for spider bites, as a laxative or to induce vomiting; it was also considered a talisman to attract good luck for hunters and their weapons.
"Who knew looking into my boundaries and frontiers and edges can be such a transforming experience! I especially love using it along with Open Heart elixir. It's a great reminder that healthy boundaries and an open heart are not mutually exclusive on the opposite—they compliment each other. I found myself really sifting through the relationships and situations in my life that are draining and tiring. I became more aware of where my boundaries are well established, where they are lacking and where they are too aggressive. It's been a real interesting experience to not only be more affirmative with others but also to respect my own boundaries and not allow myself to be pushed and pulled and fall into the vicious circle of feeling angry or guilty afterwards. Really beautiful and profound." —Elena Litvack
"I have a hard time saying no and when I gather the courage to say no, the guilt explodes and my mind goes into a tug of war. Therefore, sometimes it is easier to say yes and get it over with so the mind can try to be at peace. To my surprise, the moment I started taking Skyrocket elixir, I felt grounded and my mind quiet down. The first time I said no after taking the elixir, there was just calmness. No guilt at all and even when I kept wondering where the guilt was, it never surfaced. I've also proudly taken time off work for my sanity without guilt. Another interesting discovery was how much more focused and how quick my mind was." —Angie
"I literally took my first dose 18 hours ago and just took my third dose. The first thing that happened: I took my first personal day at my job LOL. I'm home right now, recuperating, as I have been burning the candle at both ends (I have a full-time job as a teacher, I'm in grad school working on a research project, I have another fellowship I am in, and I tutor part-time) and was starting to feel under the weather. I do think the Skyrocket gave me the courage to call out of work. Normally, I just push and push and push through, no matter how I am feeling. Another thing I have noticed: I am angry. I believe wholeheartedly that this NEEDS to happen so I can see where I've had lax boundaries, so I can tighten them up. And I believe that my anger will soften into compassion and forgiveness for myself and the parts of me that felt the need not to put myself first and allowed others to walk all over me." —Amara
