If you’re attracted to the Strawberry Blossom, you may feel like you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. You may notice your mind making up scenarios about the future and expecting the worst outcome. There may be an area of your life that fills you with dread or has you spinning with negative possibilities.
You might catch yourself feeling like “Negative Nelly,” either complaining or anticipation unfavorable circumstances. You may feel in need of fresh energy and opportunities.
Imagine the feeling we get, in the forest or in a garden, when we see a strawberry patch full of ripe strawberries. It’s like a miracle! We feel so lucky. And when we reach down to pick and eat these ruby-red jewels it’s like a secret treasure that we were lucky enough to find.
That sense of good fortune is the feeling that Strawberry Blossom imparts. It dissolves the habit of expecting or preparing for the worst and gives us a fresh outlook—a sense that anything is possible. It cuts through pessimism, worry and negative thoughts. It helps us have a deeper understanding of ourselves and our infinite possibilities for personal growth.
In the 15th century, monks in Europe wrote in their manuscripts about the medicinal properties of wild strawberry plants (Fragaria) as a treatment for depression. By the 16th century, mainstream culture in Europe began using them for their medicinal value.
During this time, strawberries were only available in the wild and the only way to obtain them was by foraging. The modern strawberry that we know today was cultivated in the late 18th century, when a new species occurred between two plants that were imported into France, one from North America and one from Chile.
Fast-forward to today, when the top five strawberry-growing countries in the world produce almost 5.5 million tons of strawberries annually. Strawberries, now a popular ingredient in desserts, are commonly added to smoothies, gelato, ice cream, milk and yogurt. Herbalists have worked with strawberry leaves for centuries as an invaluable remedy to improve digestion, purify the blood, soothe the stomach, reduce aches and pains, support natural weight loss, diminish menstruation and dissolve tension and stress.
Strawberry leaf tea is gentle, appropriate for both pregnant women and children. Strawberry plants also have one of the highest naturally occurring rates of vitamin C. Strawberry blossoms are white or pink, and the flowers are edible—but of course if you eat the flower, you won’t get the fruit!

"I have been working with a part of me that I call 'The Negativity' and when I started taking Strawberry Blossom I noticed a new part in me developing which I call 'The Optimist' and I love it :-) Wow, how refreshing and beautiful to be able to look at any situation with an open mind ... Just having had this experience with the essence I have been able to remember this part of me and it almost automatically shows up now in my life." —W.B.
"I’ve taken this elixir a few times. Every time was when I needed to push through a tough course in school and I had a lot of emotional stuff running in the background. I’m not the best at expecting the best and taking this elixir was very supportive. Helping me to see the benefit in expecting better things even though the journey is rocky. It’s actually very refreshing and boosts confidence in yourself when you take that perspective." —Celia
