So thrilled to share with you a project that I’ve been working on for over a year!
It’s insanely beautiful …
And one of those times in my life – where I’ve jumped into a new era that is totally unexpected and yet –
Feels totally spot on! And miraculous. And true.
So here it is –
I always knew we’d be doing business in Asia at some point, because I feel so at home there.
I did not expect India to be our next home, and I’m beyond exhilarated about it!
The short story:
Here's how we got here:
The first time I set my feet on Indian soil was in 2003.
I arrived at the Gaya airport and after settling into the guest house, I made my way to the Bodhgaya Stupa. As I circumambulated, I hadn’t made it one full turn, when I started to sob.
I watched myself break down and cry, half not understanding, and half fully cognizant of some deeper, wiser part of myself.
I realized how long I’d been away from this place, how familiar it was & why when I was young, I never felt like I fit in - in the U.S., in school, in the West.
I stayed for one month, practicing meditation and studying under a variety of Tibetan Buddhist teachers, like His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Eminence Ayang Rinpoche.
Living in India for a month & studying meditation practices changed my life forever.
I understood the trajectory of time and the unfolding of my path in a whole new light.
Surprisingly, what brought me back to India for the second time was a business conference in 2013!
The International Wellness Summit in Delhi inspired me back to India. And my business and spiritual worlds collided in a wild display: His Holiness the Dalai Lama was the keynote speaker!
At the conference of hundreds of wellness-minded people from all over the world, I danced, I laughed, I wore a sari, I swayed in and out of flowers and made new lifelong friends in India.
I returned to Bodhgaya, the place that had touched my heart so deeplythe first time I was in India. I made an essence of the Bodhi tree that would make its way into your hands in the Boundless Wisdom blend.
Two years ago, Lisa announced that she’d be going back to Nepal and India, where she’d lived for over 10 years. Several of us from the LOTUSWEI team instantly jumped on board for her adventure. I found myself back in India in 2022.
I’d been away for so long.
In the time I was away, I had evolved as an entrepreneur, and had also taught myself how to be an author and a real estate investor.
Yet this particular trip was a break from business. It was a journey of several months to visit special places and special people.
Our trip started in Bodhgaya, where my whole reencounter with India initially began. We met our old friends with a deep love that spans decades.
Before traveling overland to Kathmandu, Nepal, we found ourselves in Varanasi, where we met face-to-face – for the first time – with Sonika Mathur, who is now our director of LOTUSWEI INDIA.
I’m so proud of our team & everyone’s efforts to expand our reach into one of the most beautiful countries and richest cultures in the world.
It’s been so much fun to get this new business set up and running and – it’s only the beginning.
Here’s how you can help:
So grateful for your support.
All my love,
Katie
